How can we know if the cups are empty now? What got empty? “Is there anything left for me there?” Struggling to sit at that table while internally yearning for something more than this?
In Tarot cards the “III of Cups” indicates a celebration, dances, and friends. While the “IV of Cups” advises you to look into your disappointments, heartbreaks, your dissatisfaction. Ultimately, it wants you to confront, acknowledge and accept the ruins and the emptiness.
The “V of Cups” is one of the most pessimistic cards in the deck, but only if the focus remains on what got lost- because in reality there is a river, water, within striking distance. So cry your cry, grieve your losses- yet keep walking in the direction of your desire, it says. Because the only time a human feels guilty is when she/he gives up on her/his desire.
The vases, that were once full of water, of shared friendships- have fallen. Now it is time to reflect on the ways, on these ancient ways of holding on.
Are you willing to give up anything here? Maybe insisting that the vases are still full or that there is still a bit of water inside that you can drink — but will it ease your thirst and quench it too?
Yes, there is no replacement for people. Yes, it is sad. Yes, dynamics are changing now. And can you see your part in all of this? We are also different now. We’ve changed too, not only the dynamic. This may be the very reason NOW we no longer accept being thirsty, when surrounded by people we used to call friends and family.
The fallen vases are standing right now. There is no longer a need to destroy anything.
The water in the vases will be drunk. If we don’t like the taste- 🤮
If we are fine with that amount of water, left at the bottom-🚰
Yet we see that our cups are still empty, or simply put, it is not enough.
Oh I need more!
Let’s walk by that river or maybe even swim in it. We can sing a song of our own desire and hear the sound vibrating the water. 🕊🦢 The vases have never been fallen down; it is the veils covering our sight that has disappeared.
